Poster Symposium 2016 - Report
On 15th of December, 2016 the annual Poster symposium took place at the Veranstaltungszentrum. It
was hold by the poster symposium committee which was responsible for the organisation, moderation
and printing of the posters. The guests were welcomed with friendly words by Dina Zakgeym and
Prof. Dr. Nürnberger. Afterwards students which created the different posters presented their work to
curious students thus could amplify their knowledge about the research themes in our faculty. Also,
posters of the work groups of Prof. Dr. Rosenhahn, Dr. Plumeré (analytic chemistry), Prof. Dr.
Däschlein-Gessner, Prof. Dr. Metzler-Nolte, Dr. Apfel (inorganic chemistry) and Prof. Dr. Nürnberger
(physical chemistry) were presented which also gave an impression of the fields they are currently
working on.
Although the presenting students were a bit disappointed by the low number of guests. On the other
side, there was good feedback from the visiting students, academics and professors.
The best three posters, chosen by the member of the Student Executive Board, academics and
professors were awarded a prize. Congrats to Cindy Beyer (Supervisor: Prof. Dr. Rosenhahn), Philipp
Gerschel (Supervisor: Dr. Apfel) and Dennis Enkelmann (Supervisor: Dr Merz), their posters will get
a place in our faculty to amaze every other interested visitor.
In summary, the event allowed a rough view to all different topics and fields of the faculty of
chemistry and biochemistry of the Ruhr-Universität Bochum.
